RESPONSIBILITIES:


The incumbent will be responsible for:

  • Driving and transportation of animals, equipment’s etc relevant in a farm;
  • Maintenance of vehicle/s and usage;
  • Performing related administration tasks;
  • Performing delivery of mail and ad-hoc duties,
  • Assisting with general farm related tasks.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Grade 10;
  • At least 1 year proven experience in driving, transportation and service delivery in an institute, farm or organisation;
  • Drivers licence code C.

REQUIRED COMPENTENCIES (SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND BEHAVIOURALATTRIBUTES):

  • Knowledge of the National Road specifications and regulations;
  • Vehicle specifications and maintenance such as pressure, fuel etc;
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal;
  • Basic recording skills;
  • Driving competencies;
  • Literacy and numerical skills;
  • Basic computer literacy;
  • Basic literacy and numerical competency;
  • Proficient appliance of farm implements skills;
  • Good work ethics;
  • Ability to work in a team and independently;
  • Interpersonal relations;
  • Responsible and reliable;
  • Time management.


ADDED ADVANTAGES AND PREFERENCES:

    • Grade 12;
    • A valid Public Drivers Permit (PDP);
    • At least 12 months proven experience in:
      • Relevant experience at a Tertiary or academic environment and/or Farms;
      • Transporting of animals.

The annual remuneration package will be commensurate with the incumbent’s level of appointment, as determined by UP policy guidelines. UP subscribes to the BESTMED and UMVUZO medical aid scheme and contributes 50% of the applicable monthly premium.
